Theatre Uncut
Emma became Co-Artistic Director of Theatre Uncut alongside founder Hannah Price in 2012 and has developed and directed politically responsive plays by over 50 playwrights for the company. Writers include Jack Thorne, Sabrina Mahfouz, David Greig, Caryl Churchill, Inua Ellams and Suhaiymah Manzoor Khan.
Emma has directed the company’s work at the Young Vic, Traverse Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, Latitude Festival, Paines Plough Roundabout, Teater GROB Copenhagen and online. The company’s work has won the Fringe First award two years running, the Herald Angel award and the Spirit of the Fringe award at the Edinburgh Festival. They have also been shortlisted for the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression award and the Offies OnComm award for digital theatre.
